Everybody loves garlic bread right? I never thought to try sour cream with it, until tonight. I added maybe a tablespoon to the traditional garlic butter recipe we all use. And good lord, it was fantastic! Do people do this, or did I just stumble across something legendary?

Softened butter, salt, garlic powder, parsley. Maybe a touch of cayenne if your feelin spicy.

I added sour cream to that and it blew my dick off

I use the recipe from Commander's Palace.

I hope you've already had the offspring you desired.

It didn't curdle or break? That's pretty damn high direct heat for sour cream. A lil' squeeze of lemon or maybe a drizzle of balsamic would bring the same acidic note without any risk of curdling.

Maybe I'm just picturing your topping ratios wrong.

COMMANDER'S PALACE IN NEW
ORLEANS GARLIC BREAD
1 loaf French bread
8 tbsp. (1 stick) unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, mashed to a puree
1/4 c. finely chopped fresh dill
1/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Slice bread lengthwise. Melt butter in a small skillet, add garlic and heat gently for 2 minutes.

3. Brush the melted butter generously on the cut sides of the bread halves. Sprinkle with dill and cheese.

4. Bake until golden and very hot, 5 to 8 minutes. Cut each half crosswise into 1 inch slices and serve immediately with appetizers or soups.
