I hear these things make a fruit similar to a passion fruit from south america and that it's fairly common in the deep south.

I've been pulling this vine from the chain link fence behind the house for years and never let it grow or bloom. It's been a pain in the rear to say the least. Grows like wild fire.

Anyway, some of it got rooted far enough on the neighbor's side of the fence that I couldn't pull it. It grew back up and is covering the fence with the coolest looking flowers so I looked it up and I think they're passion flowers.

Any of y'all use the fruit?

Exactly the flower. Is this a different than a passion flower?

Will it make edible fruit?

The native passionflower aka maypop isn’t as tasty as the tropical variety.
