Does anyone use pecan shells to smoke meat? If so, do you smoke chicken, pork, beef or any of the aforementioned?

Intriguing idea. I use pecan wood on pork and beef. Would love to know if this works well. All shells, or do you have to take the punky Insides out first?

I've used the shells before to smoke some "pork fingers." Worked well, just burned quickly because I didn't have that much. Be sure to soak them first.

I will definitely soak them if I try it out. I have a grocery bag almost full.

I use shells all the time. Soaking them is best , but not required. I usually have wood to use with them.
