Smokey Dr. Pepper?

Anyone else been noticing that all the Dr. Pepper around town has developed an overpowering smokey taste? I've had about 12 offensive DP's in the last 8 days. I estimate that at this rate Mr. Pibb's plot to turn the Baton Rouge Dr. Pepper demographic into Pibb drinkers will be complete by early 2011.
I may boycott Dr. Pepper if they aren't careful and I've got stroke. I am a huge deal in this city.

I've not had any ill tasting Dr. Pepper's lately. Maybe Mr. Pibb isn't interested in Lafayette?

There is a story going around that Dr. Pepper did not actually write his dissertation. He's going to have to revert back to Master Pepper.

I drink Dr Pepper like crazy...Love the taste. I haven't noticed anything amiss. What kind of smokey flavor...BBQ, cigarette? Do you smoke?
