Longer than 2 years. I have some 4 years old that still tastes great

Should be good for awhile if sealed up. Ours doesn’t last that long to worry about freezer burn.

How long you can keep any kind of meat in the freezer varies a lot. This depends on how cold the meat was kept before freezing and how long of time was it before it was frozen.
If you kill a deer when it is 75 F or 45 F, it makes a difference. You should get the deer on ice within 2 or 3 hours or you have greater chance of higher levels of bacteria and shorter freezer time before it goes bad.
