Another chain, Pita Pit, on Magazine and Nashville closed as well a few months back. I wonder if they were forced out?

They failed because they were shite. Same reason most restaurants fail.

No one is saying that chains are good food. Just that you shouldn't force them to jump through more hurdles than local places to get established.

Figured that

I would go there late night after the bar since it was so close to my house. I’m kinda sad to see it go.

Isn't it great that people can choose to live where they like? People living in that place are anti-chain. No one is forcing anyone who is pro-chain to live on Magazine Street. The country is full of cookie cutter establishments. You can live literally anywhere else and enjoy the sameness.

Oh, Jesus Christ. Don't act like that stretch of Magazine isn't full of chains. From Washington to Louisiana we have Starbucks, Craft Beer Cellar, Floor & Decor, Ruby Slipper, Another Broken Egg, LemonShark, West Elm, Walgreen's, Lush, Reginelli's, Hemline, and Francesca's. That's at least 12 chains in an 8 block stretch. It's not like chains are too low-brow for the neighborhood.

I have no idea how this place remained open for about the last 5 years. There was no one ever there.

I’m sure they stayed afloat with their Togo orders. It would have made more sense to open up a spot closer to Tulane/Loyola like Maple street. The only time I went there was after 11pm when I have been drinking all night.
