Ok here's one I can't remember and have asked here before with no luck. Mid 70's restaurant at Highland and Airline around where the Shell Station is now. Open for a few years, closed reopened as something different ( both kind of high end) closed and sat empty for a long time. They shot the restaurant scenes for Everybody's All- American in it then tore the building down.

When McDonalds first opened, parents would drive us 25 miles to partake, after church.. Picadilly was the usual though...
Shakeys, after football games.
Danny's Fried Chicken, during school week, for lunch.
Hmmmmm, much consistency between the "Mecca" and the wasteland of BR..

Shakeys Pizza on Airline
Had great fried chicken and the Mojo potatos to go with the player piano.
Great place to go after an LSU football game.
Not to mention they would sell me a pitcher of Beer when I was 16.
Yep that was Wesleys at Broadmoor.
They now own Pasttime.

How about when Tony's Donuts on Old Hammond became a bar selling great Po-boys on fresh baked bread

Shakeys was near where Salsbury's Dodge City is or a little further down the road by where Olindes is. Had my first date at Shakeys Pizza Parlor.
Not quite that far south, it was closer to Goodwood.

I'd also like to remember Tony's Donuts. Now that there was how a donut was supposed to taste.
Mrs.Anselmo and her daughter are customers and they won't give up the chocolate donut recipe.

There was a Tonys Donuts at the corner of LaSalle and Lobdell as well. It was part of the building that was the original Goodwood Hardware Store which originally was Lobdell Hardware. Snowball stand across the street.
The Goodwood Hardware now was an A&P Store with K&B next to it. I remember that shopping center under construction. Baskin Robbins was an original tenant and is still there.

I remember sitting in the Westmoreland Piccadilly Sundays after church and the lady was playing the grand piano in the middle of the dining room. I always wanted to ride the conveyer tunnel.
They also had waiters that wore white jackets that would carry your tray to the table for you.
I remember when McDonalds french fries tasted awesome, and when they used the delicious yellow bun for the filet o fish.
Does anyone remember the name of the place where Mason's Grill is now? This was before Don Pedigo.

I was about to come ask this same thing.
I used to eat and drink there often. Had great lunches with a good barroom crowd.
