This place was awesome. It was right near by house when I lived there, and I liked helping out the family that owns it (good people). Good food and pretty good margaritas (especially for happy hour).

For the person who asked if it was new, it used to be called Margarita Cafe; it's right on Kings Hwy across the street from the Cub.

Agree with Blind Tiger suggestions. I'm from and live down in Acadiana where Cajun food, especially fried seafood, is obviously a specialty.

But I must say, I've discovered while working up in North LA, Blind Tiger is the best fried catfish I've ever had at an eating establishment.

I got about once a week, and tell myself I will order something different, but I never do. Fried catfish lunch, one Budweiser on Tap, one water comes out to just under $10 before tip.

Tough to beat that.

The food is meh, but the talent is nice.

Go to The Blind Tiger or Noble Savage for "Chimes" type fare. Superior Grill is always solid. For fine dining, I like the Mabry House.

ETA: I forgot to mention the Olive Street Bistro and Columbia Cafe for lunch.

I don't know. I guess I just had a bad experience when my wife and I went to Oyster Bar right after it opened. The food was bland and the waiter was a little dickish because we didn't order alcohol. Maybe it's better now.
