Who the hell thinks sauce is a "topping"? Yes it's something "added to the top" but crust, sauce, cheese is standard at any pizza place. Adding anything additional at that point is a "topping"

I have to pay extra when I prefer a pizza with extra sauce.
Also, choosing the type of cheese or sauce makes it a topping.

whether you put it on top of the cheese or not, Sauce is an integral part of the Pizza, and thus can't be a toppings.
