So I'm the designated cook for the family gathering this year and Ive got lots of experience with crawfish and shrimp but for some reason or another Ive never had the opportunity to boil crabs. So before I google "how to boil crabs" I figured I would ask here for some real world advice.

Same as crawfish. Boil them till they float, soak them till they sink. May sure your crabs are cold before you put them in the boiling water or they will lose their legs.

And please make sure you turn them upside down when you take them out.

Depending on how full the crabs are will depend to a degree on how much spice you can get to the meat. Poor crabs have lots of space for spicy water to fill the cavity, a full crab doesn't have that.
