I only watched the first episode so far. I can’t wait to finish it. Didn’t that pesto look rediculous?!

Really makes you appreciate old school ways of doing things. The Japanese miso and soy sauce, wow.

Watching it now. Making focaccia.

I’m starving.

The butcher wins.

He disassembled that swine like a hot knife through butter.

The cinematography is incredibly as well. This show is unique, and very well done

I had no idea how they made soy sauce until I saw this, at least old school style.

I've been meaning to pick up the book

I watched about half of the first episode the other day and fell asleep at the part where she went to the pig farm

I never knew what miso was.

Really?

You should watch some of "The Mind of a Chef" mainly the David Chang episodes

Not nearly as well filmed as Chef's table but you learn a lot about umami

I'm pretty adventurous with what I eat but making nutria chili or braised coon isnt the same as trying 4 year old parmesan in Italy or artesian soy sauce in Japan.

When you've got some extra money to burn on a food indulgence do yourself a favor and order some 30 month aged parm (or really any of the parm from there) from hombre farms. And you might as well get a decent sized block of it since you'll have to pay for the DHL shipping.

You can order it below. This is the same cheese producer that Massimo Bottura uses(he has had the #1 ranked restaurant in the world for several years). I make a big order about once every 8 months. It's fantastic.

I caught the first episode and can't wait to watch the rest.
Good stuff. I had no idea olive oil expired, or even how they harvested the olives. Learned a lot.
