Does anyone know how much a lb. of oysters usually runs, and how big is a sack? Also, what's a good place to get them? TIA

Most places are selling by the half sack and right now they are big and salty as hell. I picked up a 50 lb half sack in MC last week it had about 80 oysters in it.

Picked up five gallons at Wilsons in Houma last week for Christmas presents. $37.00 a gallon and they were fat and salty.

I know some Neville boys in that seventies eighties era.

I gave four as presents and cooked one for myself. My father, brothers and a friend. They get plenty of whisky so they appreciate and remember my gift more than the person giving them a bottle of whisky that costs the same.

Ate a bunch raw, charbroiled a batch and made two oyster pies. Good stuff.
