I found some 9/12 on line for $5 plus shipping, plus 2-2.5 live lobsters for $8.50 a pound
Joe Patti's Seafood
I can get 20 lbs of the Royal Reds for $6.49 a pound shipped

What's the shipping cost? Looks like the container is 12 bucks and I looked at shipping 1 and 2 day and it was pretty steep.

the shipping cost for 20lbs is $30, $18 for 10lbs.
$6.79/lb for 10lbs shipped
$6.50/lb for 20lbs shipped
$5.99/lb for 30lbs shipped
Edit: OK, the prices above are for the shrimp and box, postage is high($70-$90)
Those prices seemed to good to be true

I know the are deep water shrimp, caught about 1800 feet down.
I find it funny too that they are such a big deal in Orange Beach since they are caught in the Antarctic.
"From Joe Patti's website: Now coming from the cold waters of the Antarctic especially for you Royal Red Shrimp Lovers! Yes, Royal Reds are very tasty. They taste between shrimp, lobster, and snow crab meat. The difference stops there. They are a very very delicate Shrimp. Royal Reds are caught in waters that are 1800 to 3000 feet deep. I believe that is what makes them so delicate."
You can't get them fresh here unless you have a serious connection. They are obviously frozen on the boat.

That's what I was thinking, so I took a look and thought maybe I'd missed some sort of special shipping price you saw that I didn't. Shipping is high.

Royal reds are caught in Alabama not in Anartica. They are gulf shrimp. Here's a link:
Royal Red Information
Also, they should only cost about $1-$2/lb(at the most) more than our gulf shrimp. $13/lb is a ridiculous price in my opinion. They have Alabama shrimp companies that run to New Orleans/Baton Rouge multiple times a week and that price ($13/lb) is more than double what the wholesale price on them is.
