was a good event. best gumbo was the basf tent.
they had a few that were very meh to downright bad. one was obviously a burnt roux. one tasted like chinese food. one tasted like burnt fireworks.
one was pouring you shots of fireball if you voted for them, which some of the other teams werent the biggest fans of.
one suggestion for net year is to put a bunch of picnic tables so people can sit down.

This.
I was really surprised at how bad some of the entrants were. The Kary’s roux Tent was openly just the box gumbo and it was better than quite a few of the other tents, not pointing any fingers but about two tents down from the Kary’s tent they burned their roux. If I was them, I wouldn’t have served it.

Yea I was surprised they served it. My assumption was that they maybe didnt have enough time to do another one.
Just bring a roux next time thats already made (unless thats against the rules)

Nice looking event! I like the trophies, they look similar to the one I had made about 15 years ago for our K of C council's Gumbo Cook-off we have once a year. The winners name goes on a brass plaque and the winner keeps the trophy one year and passes it on to the next year's winner.

I hung around the crawfish app tent as I knew most of the people cooking st that tent and the one next to it (Hawaiian shirt guys). I didn’t get to try many on the other side but everything I sampled was solid.
A lot of teams make the roux the night before then bring it out there. So much easier

. I was basically a carnival barker once we’d finished the gumbo.
We're you with that fishing charter tent, 3rd down on the right?
