Anyone here been to one or both? Going to be in South America all of March and these are the first two cities, so could use any restaurant and bar / cocktail bar recommendations. All we have so far is Lasai in RJ and 13 Fronteras in BA. Thanks!

It's been almost 10 years ago but Galeto Sats in Copacabana is most memorable place we ate at. In fact we went twice.

Also went to an excellent seafood place and a churrascaria also in Copa. Will try to remember the names and edit this post.

Been awhile, but I remember enjoying Rodi Bar in BA. Good location in Recoleta.

If you want a good Brazilian steakhouse experience the food at Fogo de Chao Botafogo is fantastic.

We also had a good meal at Meia Pataca. It's a great location right on Copacobana.

Granted, it's been probably 12-13 years since I've been there.

Feel like I'd have to go to Don Julio in Buenos Aires if I went. One of the best restaurants in the world

Yeah, should have clarified that I'm waiting on those reservations to open up for the dates I'm there. Have had my email in there for a couple months on the early access thing.

I lived in Buenos Aires from 1986-1991. It's still my favorite city in the world. Since I've been gone for 33 years, any specific recommendations I give you would be severely outdated. But in general, there are steak houses all over the city. They are called parilladas. Don't be afraid to try those, even if they aren't well known. The beef is grass fed and delicious. A typical meal comes with steak (bife de chorizo is a NY Strip), a piece of sausage, thick cut fries, and a salad. And local Argentine wine is outstanding.

Enjoy your time in Buenos Aires. I'm jealous.

Here's a more up to date website from a local. She can give you some more specific recommendations.
