Newport Storm Brewery has a few good beers.
If you can find Buzzard's Bay Beer there (Massachusetts Beer but good), the Golden Flounder and The Doctor are pretty good.

You can go to Coddington Brewing Company in Middletown, RI. It has it own beers on tap. Use to work there when I was on shore duty while in the Navy. Here's the link to the website.

Might not be a bad strategy this time. Can't be more than a 2 hr drive to either.

It might not, but think about who the OP is. He likes craft beer, but he's more or less the anti-snob. I just can't see him driving two hours and standing in line for what could be hours to get maybe 10 cans of Tree House.
If I were going and for whatever reason was confined strictly to Rhode Island (work or something), I'd look for Captain's Daughter and other stuff from Grey Sail, and maybe some Proclamation Ale Co. depending upon where I was. As far as out of distro bottles/draft, looks like Firestone Walker is potentially available, they make really good stuff (always check the dates on their hoppy stuff, has a tendency to shelfturd). Two Roads out of Connecticut could also be available, I've heard some of their stuff is pretty good, but all I've had was a DIPA that was pretty malty.

My daughter is there this summer and I'm going up in a few weeks. Also wanting to find some options for her so she can try some things other than Bud Light.

What city will she be nearest? The region generally likes craft beer, so depending upon where she's located there will more than likely be some cool spots where she could go with friends that would give her (or you) the opportunity to try new beers and meet new people.

Drive 12 miles to Yankee Spirits 628 Washington St Attleboro, MA 02703. Last time I was there, they had 5 different Trillium beers. Place looks like a dump, but trust me they have Trillium plus an excellent bourbon section. I saw Blantons , Eagle Rare and other high end bourbons.

I'm in Narragansett for the week. The town is great, but I don't like the brand very much.

Newport Storm is the only one that comes to mind. It's alright.
