Anything in particular you're looking for?

Are you staying in Dallas or Ft. Worth?

Not sure what you mean by "a good spot to chill...." What type of food are you looking for? What kind of atmosphere? Price point?

Like a place to relax, does that make a little more sense...I Don't want to drive up there all day and then go out to a dance club!

ETA: Price point...does not matter

There is a ton of high-end dining in that area. The best are probably The Mansion at Turtle Creek and
Fearings at the Ritz.

what is the name of the best steakhouse? Nick's? I started a thread a couple of weeks ago, I guess I could go search for it, but it had a couple of recommendations that I checked out their websites and liked.

There's a place called Nick & Sam's. I really like it, but I don't think it's the best steakhouse in the city. Maybe top 5.

What is the best steakhouse in Dallas?

As mentioned earlier, preferably close to the Stonleigh.

You are staying in the heart of steakhouse country. We always take out-of-town clients to Nick and Sam's but the "best" is a hot debate. In the uptown area or vicinity there are several good choices..

Nick & Sam's
Bob's on Lemmon (the original)
Al Beirnat's (old-timers' favorite)
Pappas bros. (recently D magazine's #1)

Just google Dallas best steakhouses and read reviews on what strikes your fancy.

Everyone has their favorites, and there are several good ones very near the Stoneleigh:

Nick & Sam's is practically across the street. Fanstatic atmosphere. One of my favorites.

Capital Grille. Classic steakhouse chain. I'd compare to Ruth's but better, IMO.

Perry's. Haven't been there, but I've heard good things. Houston import famous for their pork chop. More modern atmosphere.

The Place at Perry's. Longtime Dallas steakhouse. Very good, but not the greatest atmosphere.

Morton's. Another chain place (out of Chicago, I believe). Haven't been yet or heard anything. Just opened a few months ago.

Ocean Prime at number 3 is a joke and the methodology is flawed, IMO. BUT I tend to agree with the steak-specific ratings on that chart.
