Pizza Village is the best imo.

Also check out Creole Lunch House on 12th St. It's in the hood but incredible chicken fricasse and red beans & rice, stuffed breads are also fantastic, you'll thank me later. Only open on weekdays around lunchtime.

I recommend either the dup or landry special. My personnal favorite is the dup. Good stuff.

Zeus Cafe is great for Greek/Lebanese, with a number of locations

Nice addition to the list. Very good place. Belly dancers on the weekend are a nice touch.

Lived in Lafayette most of my life. Poor Boy's Riverside Inn is the best restaurant I've been to in Lafayette. I'd say it's comparable in quality to Louisiana Lagniappe in Baton Rouge. Judice Inn has the best burgers I've had in Lafayette. The Ground Pati on Johnston is pretty solid as well. The only steakhouses I've been to in Lafayette are chain places so no comment there. Don's Seafood Hut has never really impressed me. Prejean's isn't too bad, haven't had that in years though. Villager's Cafe in Maurice has the best poboys in the area for my money. Favorite pizza has to be a tie between BJ's Pizza on W. Congress and Deano's on Bertrand.

I wish Lafayette's was still open, they were really on the upswing in terms of food quality when they sold out to an MD group.

Has anyone mentioned Mazens?? Their food is great,a tad pricey but the variety is superb. Our go to's are Riverside Inn, Phares, Cafe Jolie and Dwights depending on the mood. Dwights has GREAT boiled stuff and their fried onionrings and platters got no fame but man they are awesome and TONS of food.
La Pagua for Latin and Mae onne for Chinese/Vietnamese and the Thai place on Kaliste Saloom for Thai, obviously with Marcellos Cafe, Bella Figura and Carabbas/Sage for Italian.

Phares' is probably the best restaurant in the city, but is kind of still an unknown. Get the charbroiled oysters.

I wouldn't say its the best restaurant in town, probably not even in my top 5. Their food is way too damn salty.

Pretty sure food poisoning takes at least 12 hours to show up.

Best Italian - Carrabba's (seriously)

Italian Food Market - best Italian food, especially the sauces, that I've had in Lafayette by far. Rivals Italian I've had in other cities noted for their Italian cuisine. Has no one heard of this place? I think it's one of the best restaurants in Laffy.

I'm sure it wasn't food poisoning. Another broken egg is the best breakfast in lafayette other than The French Press

Italian Food Market

Imonelli's
and Marcello's are all better than Carraba's, IMO of course

don't listen to this crap. Phare's is amazing and no one knows about it. The only overrated restaurant on this board is Charlie G's

That's 2 on this topic. Heed the warning, Phares food is prepared w/ way too much salt. I love seasoned food and can not stand bland food, but I too find their food way too SALTY. Have been there three times, eaten the oysters twice, 3 different entrees, and each dish I have found to be the same.

Italian Food Market - Is this the place on Johnston by the smoke shop? I didn't know they served food.

Do they have dine-in or just to-go? What's on the menu, and what's good?

I might have to check it out next time I'm back in town!
