In the last 2 years I think I have only had one instance where I had any service issues.

Same here. And it was 3 states away so I didn't know any better.

Good honest post Glass

I don't agree but this is me

1. Service
2. Food taste and presentation
3. atmosphere
4. Value

I go out to eat...to have someone, cook , serve and wash the dishes...or as in Stella's...for a very unique experience...but service is always my first judge of a restaurant....In baton Rouge there is nothing unique in the food...anyone of us could cook it as well or better so the service must be the reason we eat out...Now in New Orleans there are places(Stella's) I could never hope to match their food at home. I can't even guess at all the flavors I'm tasting. But they also have first rate service along with a first rate price tag.

I guess I just don't get the fuss over "service" in general. Short of (1) outright rudeness or (2) major screwups like bringing the wrong thing, it's just not that big an issue to me. I'm way more interested in the food.

It just kind of baffles my mind that there are people who go to restaurants thinking "I swear to God this waiter better not serve me from the wrong side or so help me I don't know what will happen." Plus you have these people with 100% heartfelt, and directly opposite, views -- should the dishes be cleared before everyone is done, or not? Apparently no matter which one a waiter chooses he's going to seriously piss off one poster in this thread.

Exactly. Life would suck if I let these little things bother me

I'm the same.
