Grab a 2004 Barolo. You won’t be giggling.

We were in Piemonte a couple of weeks ago and shared a 2009 Barolo. Wow!

Three of of each bought a magnum and we've agreed to get together in 2023, 2028 and 2033 and share it again. It was fantastic!

It's awesome. I can't wait to go back although my wallet can. I think I ended up around 8 cases or so shipped back to the states. I'm looking forward to comparing notes with you.

Yeah I’ll definitely write a review of the trip once we’re back and settled. Looking forward to hearing your notes too.

Covered 8 Michelin stars over the last 9 days, including two top-20 restaurants in the world. So my stomach and wallet need a break as well.

We hit some Michelin restaurants as well. Walked into lunch in a tiny town in Tuscany and it turned out to be a Michelin star restaurant since 2012. The chef/owner personally waited on us. A great dining experience for lunch.

Piedmont is my favorite pat of Italy.... Alba white truffle festival is amazing..

I’ve got a dozen Barolo bottles covering anywhere from 1974, 1984, 1988, 2006, 2007...

I always fly a few cases back to lay down in my cellar.

You know, it's funny. I've done a lot of wine tastings and never really grasped what I was looking for. Then I tasted old wines and the lightbulb went off. Should I pay attention to the acidity at the beginning? Nope. Should I pay attention to the harsh tannins at the end? Nope. Should I pay attention to the middle and what the wine would/could become? Absolutely!

I learned more by tasting one old wine than I learned in years of tasting current release wines.

That started the first day we got to Alba. It was truly incredible.

The food, the wine, the parade, and the donkey races were all really unique. Alba and Modena were easily our two favorite spots.

About to head to the airport in Milan now, unfortunately.
