Looking to get a medium to large capacity food processor. Mostly for processing stuff from my garden, making salsa, tomato sauce, dips, chopping veggies... stuff like that.

The Ninja BN601 has kinda caught my eye. Also looking at the DFP-14BCNY Cuisinart. It's a little pricier and I'm not sure I need that much capacity.

I've been having the Cuisinart BFP-703BC blender/food processor for a few years now and it works well. But it's only 3 cup capacity and I'd like something at least twice the size or larger.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

My mom has been using the same Cuisinart since 1992.

We have a Cuisinart that old. It is a workhorse. Powerful, somewhat easy to clean, and Very heavy - for whatever that means.

I've had a Pro Line Kitchenaid where the base was all cast metal and heavy. The bowl broke eventually and I could not replace. I bought a 14 cup Cuisinart and it blows that expensive Kitchenaid away.

I think Cuisinart is the gold standard for residential food processors.

I bought this one a few years back based on a recommendation here. It’s solid and I’ve had no issues. I had a kitchen aid before and the bowl kept breaking.

Good to hear. I’m kinda leaning toward this one. I know Cuisinart makes really good stuff and I love my blender/food processor combo. But the only concern I have for these larger ones is they seem to only have one speed.

I usually rely on the recommendations from America’s Test Kitchen for this stuff. Search on youtube for their test results.

Our Cuisinart is a one speed machine. It bothered me when we bought it, but it is the one the wife wanted and at that time, she was in the food business, and knew her stuff. I quickly got over my concerns about only one speed. Our machine is a beast. the one speed it runs works very well for chopping, mixing, whatever.

Between y’all and a bunch of YouTube videos I decided to go with the 14c Cuisinart.

First place I went was to America’s Test Kitchen YouTube channel and found everything they had on food processors. One thing I noticed is that none of them are perfect. The Cuisinart seemed to be the jack of all trades and master of most. The only thing is ATK did not have the Ninja food processors in any of the videos (at least not that I could find), so I had to look elsewhere. There were a few videos comparing the two and results on which one was better seemed to be mixed. So this board tipped the scales. Thank y’all for the help!
