I have WSM currently at my house that I smoke on. I love it. I have a Backwoods that is at my BIL's house that I haven't seen since he borrowed it.

BUT

I want to know everything there is to know about the Rec Tec 700. Pics too if y'all have time.

Is it worth it?
Does it put out great food?
I've read about lack of smoke.
I've heard it's better than Traeger, Green Mountain, and Camp Chef. Yoder out of my price range.
I would not use this to sear or cook high heat, I already have a regular Weber gas, and a kettle.

Thank you for your time.

I would look at Pitt and Spitts too. I don't know anything about the Rec Tec but I know when I upgrade I am going to go with Pitts and Spitts.

I love my Rec-Tec 700, had it a year now and it has performed flawlessly. They are known for the best customer service in the business although I have not had to use it yet. It's built like a tank compared to the Traegers I have put my hands on. I think for the price point it can't be beat. Stepping up to the Yoder was something I could not do at that price. I have not smoked anything on it yet that I thought lacked smoke flavor. Theres a ton of info out there and Rec-Tec also has an online forum that you can get more info from.

How was the delivery process? Did the trucking company just drop off on the curb?

ETA: I have done a bunch of research and videos on the product. Just was hoping to get some additional feedback on here.

It comes on a pallet. I had the guy drop it in my garage and set it up in 10 minutes by myself

I was looking into the Rec Tec after this post and I couldn't find what gauge the metal is. Do you know?

Some facebook and forums for the older bull model states 10 gauge fire pot, 12 gauge heat pan and heat deflector.

I think chamber is 14 gauge.

I don't own one but I've read this too. Some say you have to supplement with a tube smoker or something like that.

Freight truck delivered 3 days after order was placed. He put the pallet in my garage and me and the wife had it set up in an hour. As far as the smoke goes, I do not use any smoke tubes but my brother has in his and said he did not notice the difference as when not using the smoke tube. I had only used stick burners prior to this purchase and for me personally I will never look back. The simplicity of this thing coupled with quality meat consistently is a no brainer to me. I have yet to smoke anything on it that was not fantastic from butts, brisket, chickens, wings, chubs of bologna and then turn it up a little to cook burgers and dogs.

I have one. No issues at all. Performs like a champ and has a lot of room. The app is nice. Get the amazen smoke tube and lumberjack pellets and you're good to go. I don't find the smoke flavor as intense by any means compared to stick burning.

I'm actually doing a combo of the two. I have a Webber kettle with a slow n sear. Smoke for 2-3 hours on that then let it ride on the rectec. Perfect
