Pretty sure I will be in for a similar gain when I get on the scales tomorrow morning. I have pretty much thrown caution to the wind since my company Christmas party last Tuesday. Still at the inlaws' and don't have a scale here. About to eat some sort of crawfish dressing. I will report my gains tomorrow morning with my head hung. I was at an even 280 last sunday

No reason to hang the head low as long as you get back to work.

This.

I made a comment yesterday to my family that I'm going to hate stepping on that scale this morning.. and they said "just wait a week, get back on the diet and wait a week so you dont get depressed"

I said "depressed? Who gets depressed? I cheated knowing fully that I was not going to like the results on the scale, but I use that gain as motivation to not cheat the next time I feel like cheating when it's not a special occasion".. They said "oh... that makes sense i guess.. I just don't have that kind of willpower"

Sometimes I wonder when needing willpower ends and doing what needs to be done regardless begins. Some people tell me I have incredible willpower, but to me it's just doing what needs to be done and NOT doing it just doesn't make sense.

The key is getting on that scale. The longer you wait, the bigger the chance you toss in the towel.

I don't hide from the scale after cheats. Heck, I was actually intrigued to see the results.

I know I didn't eat 14 pounds of food but I do drink a ton of water, up to 128 ounces a day so when I go crazy with the sodium, I can retain a ridiculous amount of weight.

Having said that, I know it isn't all water. I ate a pile of food and I ate a pile of desserts.

After a very pleasant and satisfying holiday week, I am ready to get back at it.

I'll be rejoining all of you too. I will be back after Jan. 11th. After the NCG and Mr. CT leaves for work. Then I'll be crying and singing the blues.

Ha! 174.2

Largest 1 day loss ever.....

6.6 pounds of water exited the system yesterday. I knew I was going to have a big loss after the 42 trips to the facilities on Sunday.

I guess the trip to the scale wasnt as bad as i was expecting. I was at 280 this time last week. After almost a week of non-Atkins eating, i tipped the scales at 291. Hopefully it falls off as fast as it went on. Back to work!

well im glad to see im not the only one to put on a few lbs over the holidays. i like to call it my winter coat. ive gained about 15 lbs since right before thanksgiving. i was between 155-160. weighed in today and i was 177! ive been right around 170 for the last week or two. im sure tomorrow ill weigh and be back down closer to 170. that 177 is what statisticians call an outlier

so, after eating pizza last night, a big breakfast at ihop this morning, and a turkey poboy for lunch and weighing afterwards, i am officially back on the wagon err...pain train. i ate chicken (dark meat ) and a salad with mixed greens with very little salad dressing for dinner. stocked up on over a weeks worth of healthy groceries (minus the pork shoulder tacos for the game) and will begin working out tomorrow. wish me luck

Nope!

I was holding on to an insane amount of water. From 180.8 to 171.9 in two days.

I imagine the remaining weight it probably real weight gain from the feasting but I can live with a 5 pound gain. The 14 was a bit of a shock.

Probably at the real weight now. After all of the rice, sweets, and fats that I ate for Xmas, 1 pound gain is minimal.

Rats!

The water is gone and I'm stuck with 5 pounds of gains. No drop this morning.

I'm having a REAL tough time at work. People keep bringing cookies, cakes and candies to the office!

I'm having a dickens of a time getting back into Atkins induction with all the carbs floating around the office.

Oh! Today is the weekly office lunch.
