Dating sites of course not, nobody wants to date me or be around me like that, I learned that these last few weeks. It's why I had bad weekend.

I’m sorry you’ve had a rough go :( Chin up. I know it’s trite for people to say shake it off. I can’t just “shake off” depression. All we can do is try hard not to feel sorry for ourselves & fake being happy til our brains believe it.

Trust me I know that working with the students I do (Depression, ADHD, Conduct Disorder, etc)

But usually what I do is turn it into anger and start the burn the place down attitude. It is harder to get into though as I am not working in CFB anymore. I miss that arrogance and attitude I had back then. I once asked the CEO of Russell Athletic why our money wasn't as good as Auburn's and told him guess we will take our business to Champion since they like money from everyone.

Got the uniforms we needed on time after that one.

Yay! I’m glad to hear you got out :) I played mixed doubles & tri-level over the summer. I’m on a 2.5 women’s league for the fall, and still doing weekly group lessons with my team. I’m still not good, but I’ve gotten a lot better from where I started a year ago. Tennis has definitely become my thing.

Guys I played with/against in mixed this summer said that the men’s leagues are a lot more cutthroat. Even at the freaking 2.5 & 3.0 levels. Lame! It’s one thing to be competitive; it’s another to be an a-hole as a beginner. Like, okay, dude. You’re king of the losers.

Yeah I forget what league I played in last season, but it seemed like I was playing up and the other guys were playing down... So you can imagine how those matches went.

I need to find some forum that makes finding tennis partners easy.

I think you said you played as a 3.0. Playing as a 3.0 as a legit beginner would be HARD. There's a lot of variation in skill at that level, with some new people, and some people who've played for years but play in a way to not get bumped up. It sucks that men don't really seem to have a 2.5 option. Wtf? I just looked at the New Orleans Tennis Association (or whatever) website, and it starts at 3.0 for guys. When I went to the tennis apprentice section, it refers you to freaking Baton Rouge for league play Apparently, they have 2.5 men's in BR. Lame.

Ok, I looked again, and they have combo leagues starting at 5.5 for men (so one player would be a 3.0, and the other would be a 2.5). Combo is going on now through November. Even if you don't get on a team for this fall, I'd email the coordinator at the link on this page & ask her if there's a list for people looking for a team that she can put you on. It will at least put you in touch with other people at your level. That's how I found my tri-level team this summer, and players for my mixed doubles team.

LINK

Now I look creepy as hell, doing this research. But whatevs. I'm excited about tennis & want everyone to play!

I just asked. It was a 3.5 league.

and thanks for the info! Just sent a poorly worded email to the director. Hopefully they can decipher what I'm asking and help me out.

Dude. I wouldn't even be able to return serves from most 3.5's That is HARD! I made my boyfriend serve "real" serves to me a few times, and it was like a joke. I don't think my reflexes could ever be fast enough. Granted, he's a 4.5 and a guy, but still. I'll stay at my happy little 2.5 snail pace of play for awhile

Would prefer to play doubles, but at least I'll be playing.

Yay!! That was fast! I'm glad you contacted them! You probably can still play doubles with flex. And if not, you'll get a hell of a workout playing a lot of singles :) Keep me posted!

We're gonna need more details than that.

and still, doubtful. look around you dude, at the mix of likely and unlikely couples that make up the world. maybe you just need to change it up, or adjust your standards or something, but if you let it get you down it will, theres nothing less attractive than a negative person.

This is true. Guys are far better off being assholes than they are being sad sacks. I don’t know how one changes that, but try to keep your perspective good & take care of yourself.

So today is a 20 minute ride and either curls with resistance bands, as I really think I need to go to orthopedist, and Pallof press.

Yeah anyway about me being an a-hole not really in my nature I get it. I did though stay away from anyone last few days.
