Publix moving into Virginia/DC, I hope there next move is Louisiana!

I've been with this company for 22yrs, great company to work for, and great food service!!

You mind telling your higher ups to drop the prices some? I like publix, but I pass on it a lot due to price. Service is outstanding, though, so an argument could be made for higher prices there.

If you were to shop publix weekly you would see you kill on the bogos, freshness of product, oh and availability of product!! What area of publix have you shopped? Not trying to start a war of words!

I go to Publix for the BOGOs and the deli and usually hit up a Kroger or somewhere else for whatever else I need.

The produce seems on par as far as price and relative quality, but the seafood and meats are higher than Kroger for what I feel is the same quality. One example I know off hand is salmon. I buy it every week. Publix is routinely $9.99/lb, whereas Kroger is usually $6.99/lb. both are farm raised Atlantic. Whole chickens are a couple bucks higher at publix. Both places carry Asian shrimp, which I always pass on. I thought Publix might carry more gulf seafood due to their headquarters, but not so. Publix could win me over on gulf seafood alone.

I do go to Publix to buy andouille for gumbo and RB&R. They carry Savoies, which isn't the best, but it's the best I can get in middle Tennessee. They also have picked pork.

I have a Publix by work that I routinely get lunch from. Their salad and sushi bars are good.

The international food sections are well stocked, but twice the price I can get at the Asian and Hispanic stores down the street from my house.

I give the nod to Kroger for cheese and beer on both quality and price. TN is backwoods on wine in grocery stores, so I can't judge that.

Whenever I'm staying in Florida I only shop at Publix. They are the best.
