Thx for the update GG … At least Lori took the time to rely and try to rectify the poor dining experience. Unfortunately the damage was done and the pictures tell a thousand words and they don’t lie. I agree many restaurants are short staffed and struggling but there was absolutely no excuse for the oysters, potato, and au gratin to leave the kitchen. Only time will tell if they fixed the problems as word travels fast.

You're correct. Those plates should never left the kitchen. She wrote me again wanting to send something. She gave me her cell to call her if we are coming again, so she and her husband could try to be there. She mentioned they are caregivers and also that she worked a lot off site. I don't know what that means, but I assume they aren't there a lot.

I relented and gave her my niece's information since they are on a budget and splurged to go eat there. My niece agreed to give it another try.

They are having a run of bad luck. She told me that on Friday night a customer set their table on fire. Not sure how. On Saturday night, a customer had a heart attack in the restaurant. She said she was getting some holy water. I told her to get a priest to come with the holy water and a posse of other priests to scare away the bad spirits!

Anyway, I do appreciate her responses to me. I feel bad for them having so much bad luck, but maybe they have too much on their plates. This restaurant was nostalgic for us and that's why it bothered us so.

She suggested that the overcooking issue might be that the waiter didn't pick up the food under the warming lamp timely enough.

Umm….no.

That potato or the other food didn’t get that way from sitting under a heat lamp a few minutes. The potato actually looks like a leftover one from the day before that they reheated, probably what made it like a rock.

Sounds like their being caregivers and not being in her restaurant keeping an eye on things is the issue.
