Went a month ago. Went to Sullivans for Dinner, which I would reccomend of course. The next night went to a place called Matts El Rancho. It was a huge mexican joint and it was badass. Those are the 2 I went to and I wuld reccomend both.

"hey everybody, lets travel to another city and eat at a chain restaurant!"
While you're at it, you might as well check out this cool place called Applebees
quote:El Rancho is a dump, the only semi-cool thing about it is that it's been around since WWII or something... the only fun time to go is on Tuesdays, and even then, not so much - if you're just grubbing for tex-mex hit up El Arroyo, at least the crowd will be better to look at.

Mongolian Grille is the best! I wish we would get something like that in Baton Rouge. I am going to Round Rock in a few weeks for work and will be going there for sure.

I was in Austin 2 weeks ago. My favorite restaurant there is Z Tejas. They have 2 locations. One is down further on 6th street and the other in the Arbatoreum. Both are great. Hula Hut on the river is a great Mexican Restaurant for a Sunday afternoon. Fogo de Chao is great if you like to eat a lot. All you can eat various types of meats. Moonshine has great atmosphere.

the Nut Hut is great on sunday afternoon during the summer- scattered arse everywhere (apparently they serve food there as well?)- I dont know if I'd make it a point to make it down there with this weather though

What are you Uncle Stu, the fricking galloping gourmet? Jesus dude if it doesn't suit your taste buds you straight trash shite. Do you even live here? Exactly how many times have you been to Austin? I think you've been hitting up citysearch and passing on their recs.

I'm actually going see Spyro Gyra at the One World Theatre. Looking forward to it. We're right up front.

Haven't heard of them, will have to check them out. If you are in town Saturday I HIGHLY suggest you get tickets to see JJ Grey and Mofro at Antones.

What is your deal freakshow? Who gives a frick how hold he is? Its what the dude likes to eat.
And, this thread wasnt started to talk shite about the food that people would reccomend eating in Austin.
Ill go ahead and start a whole other thread, Ill name it "Uncle Stus Dos and Donts". Everybody will list their favorite restaurants and you can come on after each post and talk some nonsense bullshite about the places that other people like.
Would that be something you might be interested in?

I dont see you jumping down anyone else's throat that bashed the Oasis. The only place I dumped on is Matt's.
You along with most of the other idiots have completely missed the whole fricking point of the thread.
How difficult is it for your meager little brain to comprehend the following:
(1) He's from out of town
(2) He'd like to experience a place to eat that he cant in other cities
I'm not bashing Texadelphia, I'm friends with the damn operations manager for the company. But to tell a visitor to check out some mini-chain of sandwich shops is downright rude.
is it that crazy to recommend places to visit and eat that are unique to Austin?
just keep your happy arse parked up on 1431 and gush over the benefits of living in Cedar park
