Frank's is good.
Georges thurs (i think) special is decent.
CHILIS, no joke, is very good

Frank's steak is good but their gravy is awful. Pre-packaged, add water white gravy.

Same here. I very rarely went to Sammy's until they opened in P-Ville, and except for the only on Thursdays shrimp etouffee which is tons better than their everyday crawfish etouffee, the menu items that we've tried have been very average.

Like I said in another thread, I think Dempsey's is probably better on comparable menu items. Although Sammy's menu choices is about 3 or 4 times larger than Dempsey's, and Dempsey's sometimes gets ridiculous with the overuse of salt on some foods.

I think Sammy's has been overrated on this board.

Chelseas has Chicken Fried Steak as a Special i think on Wednesday, Additionally the CFS at Doe's is good.

but the best CFS I have ever eaten was for lunch at the Place on Florida back in the mid-90's probably

I love the one at Sammy's.

Dempsey's CFS is too spicy for me. Almost hard for me to even eat.

My favorite was Caterie, RIP :( $5 for CFS, mashed taters, and veggies.
