Love the squirt bottle. Easy to use and pretty good, especially if you don't have time to cook a sauce.

No need.

1 28oz can San Marzano tomatoes
3 cloves garlic smashed
8 basil leaves
1 tsp crushed red pepper
Kosher salt to taste, about a TBS for me
1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Put in blender or food processor. Voila.

sounds perfectly acceptable to me. maybe add a splash of red wine and a generous pinch of sugar.. but that would be my personal preference.

I find San Marzanos don't need any sugar, but that is probably a personal taste. Maybe a little acidity from some wine or a splash of vinegar.
