Anyone have any personal reviews on the Pit Boss Pellet Grill?

garbage.
I returned 2 and will never get another again. The 1st one had the auger broke after 1 use and the 2nd had electrical issues right out the box.

Just got a classic 700 this past weekend and did tenderloin and burgers on it. Love it so far.

Have the pit boss Austin XL, We use it 2-3 times a week since June, never had a problem. It's probably the best grill I've had. Easy to use, great flavor and high versatility. I hear customer service is amazing as well. Join the Pit Boss nation FB group to get a better idea.

You've come to the right place. Did you say Green Mountain Grills? I know a guy....

I got the 1100 series from Lowe's in April. Love it. Make sure you take out the heat deflector sheet metal thing below the firebox. With it in, had 30-50° variants left to right on the grill. With it out, only 20°. Otherwise, the on board controller is pretty consistent with +-10° fluctuations. The sear slide feature is great if you like reverse sears.
Also comes with a 4 or 5 year warranty, which is best in the industry. For $550 can't beat it.

I mean... I got the cheapest one available, and have been using the hell out of it.
You do have to clean auger chamber and ashes out of it often, but yeah so far it's awesome.

I have the Austin XL. Got it on sale for 350 (no joke)around labor day a couple of years ago. Agree with the other poster who said remove the heat shield. I also changed the controller to a savannah stoker. Works great. I use it more than any of my other grills/smokers.

Is it easy to remove the heat shielding thing?
