I saw someone with a cooking page make this because she was sick. She said it's delicious for what it is. It's a family owned business. Looks quick and easy especially if you're feeling puny. I assume you could add meat to it. She didn't do that at the time. Anyone tried it?

I dont know for sure if I have had this brand but I have had a bunch of different pho/ramen packs like this. In my extensive experience(I eat this way more than the average person), the more you pay the less you get for your money. Sadly the cheaper and shittier they appear to be, theyre usually the best packs.

Pho also doesnt translate as well as ramen in these take home boxes compared to what you get in a restaurant

Probably not. This one has a seasoning bag that you put in the bowl and remove after it's cooked and multiple other bags of spices and a cube. Looks interesting enough to try. The person I saw loves pho at restaurants, but says this is darn good for what it is. I'm going to give it a go.

Yea that's a good amount of ingredients. It's usually noodles, dry seasoning and oil, and some dry veggies.

If I add anything else, its usually frozen veggies or if I have some leftover chicken from a rotisserie

When I feel puny enough that I need to eat something, but not well enough that I might eat very much, this would likely hit the spot. Those are the times when I also eat a bowl of Lipton chicken noodle soup from the packet. I keep that stuff in the pantry.

I had to quit keeping it in the pantry 3.5 minutes, add an egg, 1 more minute, a little sriracha and soy sauce- hits the spot on a cold day.

Hmmmm....new recipe for Lipton soup! I sometimes throw some green onions and parsley in it. Depends on how puny I feel. I agree, that it's good on a cold day for a quick lunch at home. I love the texture of those little noodles.

I saw the exact same video and immediately looked them up on Amazon. A little expensive for a single serving that I make at home, around $6.00+ each. Not bad but also lots of other options for similar types of make at home meals that are under the $5 mark. I love having all the bean sprouts, lime, peppers, Thai basil, cilantro, etc with my pho. Not sure this would hit the spot for me. If I could find it for a better price in the store I would try.

Off topic but I recently found and tried the Buldak Ramen noodles. Got the Cabonara noodles. Absolutely incredible. Spicy as hell in the best way and so flavorful. I crave them and have to stop myself from eating them every day.

I love restaurant pho, so I've looked at several instant versions in Asian markets. I always put them back because the sodium content is off the charts. (The restaurant version likely is too, but I get to eat it in blissful ignorance.)

Looks like the beef version of PhoLicious has a mere 57% of your USDA daily recommended sodium. That's actually not bad compared to others I've seen.

Walmart had the combo 4 pack for 20 bucks with free shipping. The free shipping may be because I pay the annual fee for delivery etc...

Interested in hearing your feedback on that. Looks good!

Also, I enjoyed you using "puny" so many times in this thread.

It’s a good word.

The pho arrived this afternoon. My Mom’s current sitter loves pho so I brought a bowl of the chicken pho. She fixed right away and LOVES it. She said she likes it better with no meat. She likes the broth and noodles. I didn’t taste it but it smells wonderful. She added a little red onion, lime juice, green onion and fresh basil because we happened to have it in stock. She said it would have been fine without it.

I find those pre-packaged pho dinners are usually super high in sodium, like one bowl is 100% of your daily intake.

A serving is 1/2 bowl (who eats 1/2 bowl).

It’s 850 mg of salt per serving, or 1700 mg per bowl, 74% of recommended daily intake

Fortunately I don’t have to worry about the sodium and I could not eat an entire bowl. It was huge. The sitter couldn’t either.
