No, still in recovery mode. Took a vicodin and drank some NOLA Blondes on the sofa last night.

You really need to take a pilgrimage to Dong Phong.

Vietnamese cuisine can definitely be elevated beyond 'ethnic comfort food' There are plenty of Vietnamese fine dining restaurants in socal. Tigerwise I am addicted to pho too. I go a few times a week to a little hole in the wall family run pho shop. I don't have to order. They just bring me '#1'. It definitely isn't a 'trendy' place. Often times I am the only white person there. It's just good!

Where? In NOLA?

I went to Kim Ahn's today and didn't order pho. Battling my addiction one step at a time.

In Anaheim. I gave up feeling bad about my pho habit a while back. Ha!

I've been to most of the Vietnamese restaurants around town and Pho Noi Viet is one of my favorites at the moment. Their spring rolls and meatball banh mi are very good. I was not impressed with Lily's. Just average.

What did you get at Lily's?

I know..I know. I just don't have enough time during the week to make the trek. I'll have to try it out on a weekend.

I didn't like Pho Noi Viet either. it was ok but not very good.

lilly's is good and so is magasin

but i'd rather pho bang metry or the one in the east over those 2, i'm too lazy to drive.

Tan dinh.. the rest of the food is good. I had their pho once a couple years back, not good. I had their vietnamese udon soup, which i'm assuming they use that same broth for the other viet soups.. not good. maybe I should try their pho again, but after trying the soup last weekend, i'll stick to the noodle bowls and rice plates.
