Went to Philly Me Up for lunch today and they added a 12% gratuity to my ticket. No signs, no mention of it being an add on; it was just there when I looked at my receipt later on. Pretty shifty, I would have said something has I noticed at the time.

That’s unacceptable. No waiter, order at the counter and pick up yourself. It’s a devious way for the restaurant to not raise prices on the menu yet shows no respect for the customer.

Texas de Brazil did that to me on a party of two for 20% but didn't give me the itemized receipt so I tipped on top of the tip. I WAS PISSED and never went back.

They wouldn't adjust the tip after so I had to dispute it with my CC company. CC said what they did was fraud and it is all or nothing with them so I got a complete refund. The restaurant was dumb enough to tell them exactly what they did.

Without the itemized receipt, how did you know this happened and when did you find out?
