I will agree with several others. Save up and spend the extra and get the RecTec. I upgraded from a Treager and it is way better. The construction difference is night and day. I have the Bull 700, Ath the time I wish the bigger one was available I would have gotten it.

I'll be looking for things to do now that I'm stuck working from home for a while. I already have a Primo XL, but I don't feel like moving it a few hundred miles.
I'll likely be cooking for 1-3 people... any reason to get a GMG Bowie over GMG Boone? Boone should fit a full-sized packer without issue. Money isn't a huge consideration, but size and weight are which is why I've effectively eliminated the RT-700 & YS640. Also harder to retrofit those 2 for the pizza attachment since the heat source isn't centered.

Yes but when you do burgers chops or wings you will run out of space. That’s why I went bigger. Rec Tec stampede has been great

I have the Louisiana Grills vertical smoker you can get for ~$450 from Costco and much prefer it to anything else anywhere near its price range.

Camp Chef owner here. I'm satisfied. I almost got a GMG, but I hit a great deal on the CC with a cover and free delivery.

Anyone thrown the GMG pizza attachment in a Rec Tec or a Camp Chef?

I was sold on a Rec Tec but it was too much of a leap money wise for my first pellet grill. I didn't even know if a pellet grill would work for all my needs. So I went to Lowes and purchased one of those pit boss 820 pro pellet grills. By the time I got a cover and applied all my discounts and their sale I think I paid around $300 for everything.
I've been really happy with it so far and in fact, am into my 2nd year with it and wondering how long it will last so I can get a more premium grill. I've smoked tons of brisket, butts, ribs as well as grilled burgers, chicken and chops pretty much 2-3 times a week on it and haven't had a single issue with it. I won't get another one when this breaks because I'd rather have higher quality parts and a better design, but for just learning.... it's not a bad pellet grill for the price.

I got a GMG Jim Bowie around Christmas and absolutely love it. Like others have said, the customer service is incredible. I cleaned it out last week and paint began to chip on the inside. I sent pictures to customer service and they told me to sand it a little and rub down with cooking oil then smoke it out. They then offered me a spotlight, top rack, or smoking tube, for my troubles. I went with the spotlight because I don't need or want the tube and I can make a top rack for less than $5 from home depot.

Going to just do the GMG Boone + pizza attachment due to space restrictions. If I like the pellet, I'll upgrade to a YS640s or MAK 2 Star General in a couple of years.

Been having my Traeger for three years no problems! I cook on it at least three times a week and a lot of what I cook is for long periods of time.
Everything for eggs to cakes to hogs!
