Pellet Smoker Recs

Anyone have any recommendations for a pellet smoker?
I would like it to have a grilling/searing option included, much like the Yoder YS640.
I ideally want a Yoder YS640. But I think I'm going to get a cheaper one for now and then maybe upgrade to one of those in a few years when I move to a new house and have a bigger/better patio set up.
I've read good things on the Green Mountains but I don't see that tere is a grilling/searing option with their models, unless I am mistaken?

They're great and they had a great sale on them over the holidays. May still be going on...there was a whole thread on it, if you search.
You're supposed to be able to sear right on the grill itself by aligning the grates so that the holes are open and cranking it up. I've never done that because I don't want to deal with the cleanup of the grease and stuff that would fall into the grill. So I just use it for smoking and put down foil to funnel all the drippings into the bucket.
This guy sears some steaks, so you can definitely do it. He just overcooked the hell out of them. LINK

Just found that sale thread. Dang, $499 for the wifi version of the Daniel Boone, missed the sale.
Yeah on the Yoder YS640 (I realize that's a $2,500+ smoker) you can remove a section of the diffuser plate and cook directly over the fire that is produced by the pellet fire box. Wasn't sure if there was a cheaper model like the GMG that did the same.

Sure does, and a couple of us just got the pizza oven attachment that you can add to the Daniel Boone or Bowie grills and do coal fired pizza or steaks or whatever you can think of. (That's a different thread). Nice attachment and good to have the option for other foods.

You can use this GMG attachment and sear steaks. Its gets over 1000 degrees. LINK

I'm definitely going to do steaks in mine, and will probably start by using a cast iron skillet to hopefully contain some of the mess and provide easy access. At 900 degrees is that thing gonna be glowing?

So if I wanted to use the GMG to just quickly grill up some burgers or chicken breast on a weeknight I would need to get the pizza oven attachment? Or can that be done with the base unit with no attachments?
