Patron’s Mexican Restaurant will open at the end of August or early September in the former Times Grill location at 5207 Essen Lane.
Javier Lopez, one of the owners of Patron’s, said the restaurant will offer authentic Mexican dishes such as tacos, fajitas and chimichangas. “We’re going to serve them differently, it won’t be Tex-Mex,” he said. “And we’ll have a few new plates.” The restaurant will have a full bar, serving margaritas and other Mexican beverages.
Patron’s plans to be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Lopez said he hopes to bring in people who work at nearby businesses, such as Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
This is Lopez’s first Louisiana restaurant. He operates El Patio restaurants in Decatur and Forest, Mississippi.

Anyone been to the El Patio restaurants? I'm all about some authentic messican.

I doubt fajitas and chimichangas are authentic Mexican.

Someone once said "80% of the crap posted here is worthy of the dreaded downvote though."
I'd say

This is probably a good clue as to how "authentic" it will be.

They really should wait to open until after the construction on Essen is done...it won't be pretty
