Wanna cook one at the camp but don’t feel like using the 5 gallon outside cause of weather and football. I have big magnalites at the camp. Can I get good color and pork fry in these pots

Yeah you can get good color, just watch the inside of the pot. Turn it down if you need to maybe add a little water if needed. You'll be fine.

No problem, and there is no shame in using kitchen bouquet

Worst pot of jambalaya I ever cooked was when I listened to a bunch of coullions and added that shite to a 10 gallon batch once. There were half eaten bowls left everywhere.
I’ll never use that shite again.

You ever think that maybe it wasn't because of the Kitchen bouquet?

Hate to tell you but it was not the KB that made the jambalaya bad, it was you, it is food coloring

quote:Sure you can. Be sure to fry down the pork well and let it stick to the bottom before stirring. Use temple meat if you can because it sticks better in my opinion. It can be done. The main thing is the taste. As long as its good who cares if its perfect color brown.

1. Don’t listen to this
2. Color is not that important on a pastalaya

I promise you it was the KB.
Nobody has ever complained about it before or since. And they always come back for seconds and to-go plates.
