In town and wanted a good meal. Want to an old standard that had been closed for 6 weeks for remodel and menu redo. Was impressed by one and meh on other.

First - the place looks great. You can tell when you walk in but something changed for the better. New paint, some hardwood, new kitchen, etc. all much-needed. Over 120 rum, draft beer, new drink list and a rum bar upstairs. All very nice additions.

The menu was redone with some old standards staying the same. I had the new Porkchop and it was OK. Old one was better. Cesar salad was good and the wine by the glass adequate. What I noticed most was the service was much better and happier.

I have been twice since. It's still just an nice, above average restaurant to me...now with an exceptional rum bar.

If they replaced the Bacon Blueberry Pork shank with the pork chop that's a loss.

That was one of the few outstanding dishes they had.
