$7.99/lb, but no grade. Looks like choice to me. What say you?

They did not pay to have the beef graded so probably choice or select, and probably right in between , if it were prime they would pay to have it graded.

Select, trim the outside and there is not much marbling.

Adding in grain to what I suspect is a fine choice for soup meat.

That will be one tough hombre if grilled.

I have used Painted Hills Beef many times. It will grill up nice and tender.

I have always wondered what the grade is. Businesses advertise it when they use Painted Hills beef in their dishes. They are a local grass-fed/grain finished, no hormones, no anti-biotics, 100% vegetarian corn free diet. Usually, their products are more expensive than the regular beef I see in most groceries, and their products are mostly carried in high end markets. However, their NY Strips are half off at Market of Choice, right now.

From what little I know about steaks, this appears to be choice, not select.

You do realize that is a brand and not a single gargantuan cow, your post have me wondering if you have any clue how meat is graded, you do understand that each carcus is graded individually right? The brand itself is not awarded a grade.
