Anyone know of any good oyster on the half shell specials in New Orleans? I've been to plently of great places, all of them expensive though. Looking for some kind of special like 35 cent oyster nights or something along those lines. Thanks in advance.

Same here. Went to Live Bait last week and they were a fricking ripoff, like $10 a dozen. Ridiculous considering you can walk next door and buy 3 dozen shucked (and they're always fresh) from Schaeffer's for about the same price.

Quarter View has a night where they are cheaper..I think it may be Thursday.

I have to say I ate my best plate EVER of raw oysters about a month ago at Bozo's

Bozo's

The best raw oysters and fried seafood. Followed by Casamento's in both categories. I think they are both among the oldest continually operating restuarants in the NO area. I know that Casamneto's has been around since 1915 and Bozo's isn't far behind. They are both awesome.

You get whatt you pay for. I am willing to pay a premium for the best available. Bozo's and Casamento's provide that. Your not going to get .35 crap at either of those places.

I'm aware of that, but I am a student with a part time job making $10 an hour. I can't afford $40 oyster + a few beers.

I agree Casamento's is awesome Oysters, prob my favorite in the city, just can't afford to pay $12-$15 per dozen all the time.
