I'm looking for help ordering a few Louisiana seafood products online. I live in Washington DC and I was born and raised in New Orleans.

I'm looking to prepare a few dishes from Louisiana and I would like to get the seafood, alligator, etc.. from somewhere in Louisiana by ordering it online and having it shipped.

I would appreciate any advice on reputable places to look into. Nothing too major here, just some apps for a X-mas party. Things like crab dip, maybe some blackened alligator (also need recipe for that), etc....

I've bought from Cajun Grocer several times:

Cajun Grocer

stuff always arrives still frozen and in good condition.

Just call Tony's on plank road and order over the phone.

I sent my brother in California a bunch of stuff from Cajun Grocer. It arrived melted (they were there to receive it). They refused to refund. I vowed to them that I would never recommend them and they said "your choice".

Don't know if Chez Francois ships, but their crabmeat is the best ever. I wouldn't order frozen, though. I use overnight shipping. They boil and pick on site. Always extremely fresh. They've got the 5 pound boxes of shrimp, frozen...various counts. I've bought them often. Shrimp are great. No shrimp smell when you defrost. If you don't want to use the entire box, just take it out and put the end in a colander and run water over the part you want to use and pick the shrimp off. Rewrap well and put the box back into the freezer. Works great. I'd recommend calling them to see if they ship.
