Online booze/wine website recommendations...

I did a google TD search for the topic and didn't find anything more recent than ~2 years. Wine.com has a good layout, but I haven't dug too deep into the pricing relative to other similar sites. Looking to buy a few cabs in the $75-125 range for special occasions, but if I can find a site to buy Makers/Buffalo Trace for a good price, that would be swell as well.

I would think shipping costs would negate any price advantage when compared to a wine/liquor store like Martin’s, Elios etc.

Yep.
If you're buying wine in bulk, online is your friend. Just google whatever winery/vintage you're looking for, and the prices will pop up and you can do a quick comparison.

You can buy directly from the wineries and have them ship to you.

Most, but not all.

Wine.com has a yearly “stewardship” membership where for around $50 you get free shipping. That’s not much more than shipping on a single case from most wineries. After that it’s free. Good selection, decent prices, lots of specials- discounts etc

I recommend Cameron Hughes
I'm a member of the wine club, and I've never had a bad bottle.
He's a negociant, and he travels around to different wineries and works with them. He takes excess grapes from vineyards and creates his own wine. Many times, he's using cab grapes from Napa vineyards with a price point of $150-300, and he sells them in the $32-35 range. $50 value pinots for $18/bottle.
Your guests will think you spent $100, and you'll have spent $35.

I'll give him a shot once I run out of my current supply.
I liked the rating system at wine.com so I bought a few semi-pricey high-rated bottles from them (Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 + Louis Latour Chateau Corton Grancey Grand Cru 2015 Pino Noir), but that's going to be a rare type of purchase. Their prices are a bit inconsistent in terms of value but the only site selling those two wines for much cheaper had some shady ratings.
Thanks for the recommendations.
