GT, if you haven't fried with grape seed oil, try it. Handles high heat beautifully.

Make some toast then put it in food processor to make some bread crumbs. Season flour -- egg wash -- bread crumbs -- deep fry.

Rocky and Carlos has a great onion ring, the thin kind. I can get close to the same when I make them at home.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. VERY happy with the results. I seasoned the flour with salt and pepper, and the wash was milk (~ 1 cup), cream (~1/2 cup), 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks and cornstarch (~ 1/8 cup).

Rings were cold, grease was hot, double toss.

Results were EXACTLY what I wanted. Wife wanted the rings cut thicker next time was the only complaint.

F&D delivered.
