I ate there for Saturday lunch too. We were the only table there at first, but another table did come in right before we left. We had the Black Pepper beef and the Sesame chicken and both were freaking delicious. The sesame chicken sauce was delicious and the chicken had a nice crunch to it, it was very very good. The Black Pepper Beef was also delicious, served on a hot platter like a fajita skillet. THe atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. THe menu is huge, I bet there are over 125 different items on it. My only criticism is that the menu does not offer any discriptions of the chinese dishes and I didn't know what many of them were. The server was very nice and attentative, but she could hardly speak any english and couldn't really answer any of our questions. If I would have had any idea of what some of the other dishes were, we probably would have been more adventurous in our selections. Regardless, I'll definitely go back. I sure hope the place succeeds

The food might rescue it this time. Now that One Calais ties back to Essen at a light and the interstate improvements being (nearly) done, it might have a fighting chance. I can't say I've ever been to any of those other cursed restaurants, but I've been to Omi multiple times already.

I feel personally vested since I love good Chinese food and have been denied that luxury in this city. I desperately want it to succeed. I'm glad to see it getting good reviews on here...that is a good sign. Now I'm craving their Chong Qing chicken.

maybe but it doesnt help that it says sushi joint on the sign and they dont give you the chinese menu when you go in.

BR is too saturated with sushi joints. They need to go the Chinese route imo

Everyone who goes in should gently make this point to the owner. That, and add Dan Dan noodles to the menu.

They gave us both menus when we walked in. Also, the owner (I think) stopped by our table a couple of times to make sure everything was perfect. That says alot about how important is to him that we were satisfied. We are definitely going to make another trip there one evening so we can enjoy drinks with the food.

I can read Chinese, but only if it's right side up.

It's been a handful of things. Recently I think it was a sushi joint. I think at one point it was Italian.

I see they did the google street view inside the restaurant. Pretty cool. You can walk all around the dining area.

Google Interior View (like street view)

I actually have a photographer friend in BR who does it for google. I think the business pays to have it done. Pretty nifty stuff.
