It's simple. It's because it's a chain restaurant. They hate nearly any and all chains. Outback? SUUUUUCKS!!! Actually, I really like their Filet and it's a great value. Ruth's Chris? SUUUUUUUCKS!!! Despite the fact that it's generally the best, if not top 5, steak house in all but a small handful of cities in the U.S. Chili's? same thing, but I wouldn't pass up their ribs or fajitas, as both are in the top 5 of each of their respective categories in Baton Rouge. Louisiana can afford this unnecessary snobbery, but most places (not named Austin, NYC, Chicago, Vegas, San Francisco, or LA) cannot.
I disagree. I'll admit that I prefer local places to chains. But, I can find something worth ordering at Outback (not the filet), Ruth's Chris, or even chili's (not the ribs), but olive garden tastes like a frozen dinner heated up in a microwave. I ate there a couple years ago because it was close to my hotel and I was starving, and it was horrible. I went out of my way to order something simple that I thought would be good. Please tell me what you order that is good there.

Oh my goodness. Is your digestive system still out of whack?

Ruth's Chris
Doesn't belong in the same discussion as Outback, Olive Garden, or Chili's. I think most of the food snobs on this board will even admit that you can get a very good meal Ruth's.

I haven't been to Olive Garden in over 10 years, but I'll bite the bullet for my FDB brethren...I'm going to the Astros game Wednesday. If I see this thing, I'll order something and post some pics and a review.

This.
I am not a fan of Outback. But I like Chilis.
I wont eat at Olive Garden. It is terrible.

i mean, its a meatball on an oversized breadstick. its not going to change your life but as far as ballpark food goes, lets not act like its embarrassing and terrible by comparison.
