Syrup sandwich.
Grandmother used to give us those all the time as well. Nothing but bread and syrup. As a kid, you couldn't ask for more.

My weirdest food combos are
I mix corn and mashed potato's together
Mix corn bread and red beans up
Ranch dressing on pizza
and if I eat a cheeseburger I often order it plain then I have a seperate plate with a mixute of mayo and ketchup to dip it in
