Someone once told me about an old country store north of Birmingham that had wonderful food. Anyone ever heard of a place like this?

For starters, I'd try to figure out "which" north it is.. both 65 and 59 go north out of Birmingham... And then maybe how far north you're looking.

You might get shot misinterpreting where “north Birmingham” is. You better get really good details and directions.

As a public service: Jason Isbell references Wayne's as the only open liquor store north of Birmingham on Sunday in his song Alabama Pines. It's a gas station in Warrior.

Lived here over 30 years, and this doesn't ring a bell

Probably Eagles Restaurant in North Bham. It’s a meat and three, soul food place. I’ve personally never been there, but Andrew Zimnern had it on Bizarre Foods when he came here. I’d imagine it’d be fine to go there for lunch, but it’s certainly not an area I’d be caught in after 5PM.
