First time poster on the F&D Board .. so I apologize in advance if this has been discussed before.

I’m thinking about purchasing an air fryer and came across the Ninja double compartment one. So my questions are:

1.) Is an air fryer worth it?
2.) How does the food come out?
3.) Is it able to be cleaned easily?

Bonus question: What do y’all mainly use it for to cook?

Thanks

I think they are worth it as I use mine all the time. It's good for cooking things like chicken or pork or seafood as is instead of having to bake it. I even put steaks in there sometimes. Potatoes, specifically hash browns to eat at breakfast or diced potatoes/sweet potatoes to eat at lunch and dinner go in almost every day. It has pretty much replaced my oven which I hardly ever use anymore.

But, I don't make "fried" food in it very often so if you are looking for it to replicate what a deep fryer does, I don't have experience in that, but I've found when I have done it, its good enough, but is never going to replicate deep fat frying. But, its worth the hundreds of fat calories you are saving by not frying in oil. I made some sweet and sour pork the other day by coating the pork in egg whites and corn starch and it actually came out decent.

Cleaning can be a pain in the butt, which is why I go with the InstantPot AirVortex fryer as it has easy trays you can slide in and out to clean easily instead of a bulky basket and pot.

I think air fryers are worth it because like I said it replaces an oven for me. I've lived in my apartment for 5 months now and I have used the oven twice total. Saves energy bill.

I got it last Black Friday for $99. Most of the time my wife would prefer just one basket that’s larger than the double. It works great though I’m sure it’s preference and cooking style. We use it a lot for chicken and potatoes.

We got the Ninja Food InstaPot/Air Fryer and use it pretty regularly. Only issue is that there's not much room for air frying things.
