Thinking a cheaper version of a Bunn.

LINK

We had a big nice grind and brew thermal carafe but it shite the bed. Trying to replace it, but I too am now a coffee convert. I like the idea of having a pot for the house, then each of us splitting the second in our to go cups. These seem great for build quality, ease of use, and quickness.

The bad:
They do not come with a heater timer, so it'll burn if left on, and the top has a GD burner on it. Wondering what that would do to my cabinet and under cabinet lighting.

Guess I'll get a metal based carafe so I can brillo the dried coffee off of the base.

commercial coffee makers/Bunn take about 2 more scoops of coffee to get the same strength as a Cuisinart or Mr. Coffee. at least the one at my office does. seems like a pretty big waste. plus, wtf do you need two warmers for?

I don't. I just want something built better than the plastic crapolla they sell these days. I'd rather it didn't have the extra burner, but that version is even more expensive. This one is $220.

This....You will use a lot more coffee. Plan on doubling your consumption of beans. Being that you reference grinding at home, I suspect you are not buying Walmart brand coffee. Plan to open up your checkbook much more often.

Why? I'm at home for an hour before work then we turn it off. I just want the damn thing to brew up a pot of coffee, not keep it warm for 5 hours.

$260 with thermal carafe.

The $140 badass one with glass and metal cups seems like something that'd last forever.

That's the one I'm replacing. The screen just reads '- - -'. It's sitting in the pantry. We just weren't too impressed with the layout and quality of it.

Not too sure why the coffee usage is an issue, ever think the grinds weren't processed enough or something?

we usually drink Community from a bag. already ground.

have you looked at DeLonghi? I've heard it's a good, durable brand.

That's pretty much the exact opposite product as I was interested in, but it looks like it still brews coffee.

ETA: Albeit in tiny amounts.

I bought this coffee maker recently and have been very pleased with it. It is a Calphalon 12 cup quick brew coffee maker. It is priced around 80 bucks.
