Do they have access to a car or shuttle to get to Vail? If so sweet basil and Mountain standard are awesome. Also maybe more of a manly thing but there's a place called mintern country club where you cook your own steak, it's really good but obviously you usually don't want to go somewhere and cook yourself food. Also the restaurant in the ritz spago is a wolf gang puck restaurant and my buddy who works at the ritz says it's really good.

Other than that beware of eating anything on the mountain as lunch is 20 bucks per person basically regardless of what you get.

I've been to the Creek/Christie 4-5 times. There aren't really any goo dining options there. Mostly just decent food and bars in Christie at the bottom of the mountain. I concur that the best options are in Veil, or eat in Denver after your flight but before you make the hike.

The sushi joint is really good

Blue moose pizza is a legend

Chophouse steakhouse is great and even better for lunch as it is at the base of the mountain right where ski patrol brings down those that need a sled ride down

S'mores at the park Hyatt is fun but the chocolate chip cookies at 3 pm are must haves

Got back Friday from family trip. Everyone agreed the best meal was Grouse Mountain Grill. Modern American. Rabbit, elk and duck were outstanding. All the first courses were killer. Great wine list.

Ti Amo is red sauce Italian, similar to Genusa's, or Vincent's. Veal dishes were good.

Had lunch at Spago at Ritz Carlton, nice sandwiches, burger looked great. Batchelors Lounge was fun.

Hooked is seafood. Interesting concept. You choose whole fish depending on size of party. One filet is prepared raw. We had nigiri and sashimi. The rest of the whole fish is flash fried and served with a chimichurri sauce. You can also order rolls or entrees. Ordered uni as a starter, it came in its shell, stuffed with sushi rice, with seaweed salad. Delicious. Four bites, forty dollars.

As someone said, everything is expensive. Sandwiches are 15-20, entrees 30-45, cocktails 15-24. On mountain dining was ok, nothing special.

Coyote Cafe was average Mexican, but it was reasonable.

Hope she has a great trip, just be prepared for the cc statement.
